About me

My love for children started from a very young age. I have been taking care of children, in some form or another, for many years now, since I was a child myself. In middle school, I was already a mother's helper, watching my cousins while my aunt remained at home engaged with other tasks. During my college years I worked as an Intern in Child and Family Management in one of the most important hospitals in Milan, the Maggiore Policlinic. This opportunity helped me to get even more in touch with my human side. Taking care of a chronically ill child is one of the most draining and difficult tasks a parent can face. During the internship, my colleagues and I attended educational seminars and entertained children with different activities: listening to music, drawing, writing and anything that could help these kids express their emotions.

Right after my college graduation in Corporate Communication, I moved from Italy to Los Angeles where I continued my work in the performative arts and worked with several wonderful families. My childcare experience ranges from newborns to teenagers, from changing diapers to stimulating the formation of intellectual independence. Specifically, I worked as a live-in nanny where I took care of a teenager and two boys, ages 14, 2, and 5. I worked with a number of other families and many of these families had children in the 4 to 6 age range. In September of 2018, I moved to New York and shortly thereafter I began working with a newborn boy, and we continue to work together today.

Besides having found great joy and satisfaction, each child with whom I've worked has proved to be an extraordinary learning experience. I've always loved and admired children's spontaneity and their capability of self-expression. My childcare philosophy is based on the belief that children grow and develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively when given opportunities to explore, create and problem solve with purposeful and fun age appropriate activities. When working with children, I make sure we have consistency and schedules. I believe that children thrive best on schedules and even if things don’t go always according to plan, schedules are always viewed as tentative guidelines for potential goals. I believe in the importance of encouraging proper behaviors by acting as an example.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to still be as driven to do and be my best as I am today. I hope to continue to have opportunities to develop my skills and take part of interesting projects.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I always try to stimulate the children with fun and educational activities. Some of my favorites are: art projects (building their own toys), drawing and panting, teaching the Italian language trough games and songs, imaginative play, nature play, board games, reading or telling stories, baking or making pizza, playing sports, and more!
