About me

I grew up in New Jersey, the oldest of 3 siblings, and always had a love for New York City. When it was time to apply to schools, I knew I wanted to be in the city. I also grew up (and am still) a member of the Disney Vacation Club, which means my family goes to Disney World just about every year. I think that's where a lot of my love for kids comes from; seeing their faces light up when they meet Mickey or seeing Cinderella's Castle for the first time brings me so much happiness. I love the joy and the optimism they have at a young age and I try to instill that outlook while babysitting.
That genuinely hopeful outlook on life that isn't yet jaded, but still has good street smarts and a solid head on one's shoulder is my outlook on my role as a babysitter and nanny.

I started babysitting at a young age. I watched my younger siblings, as well as local kids and friends of my youngest sister. I also was a birthday party entertainer where I would dress up as Hannah Montana (during her Disney channel prime) and perform and celebrate with the birthday girl. When I moved to New York City to start school at Marymount Manhattan College, it was a no-brainer to start looking for babysitting positions. Over the years, I've watched multiple children for families throughout the UES, UWS, and Brooklyn with the children's ages ranging from infant to 15 years old.

For one position, I was responsible for picking up a 9 year old at his school on the UWS and walking through the park with him to his home on the east side. We would meet mom and his 7 year old brother at the house where we'd do homework while the mom was working. I would get them snacks and help with any questions they had until the evening when the mom was done working. For another similar position with two girls, ages 7 and 11, we'd also do school-pick up, snack, homework, and once we were done, we'd find creative ways to play and be entertained. I would also prepare dinner for them and take them to different activities like math tutoring or playdates with friends. In my position with an infant and two year old, I started off just watching the 2 year old before the infant was born. I would be there for the full day and I would make him lunch, go to the park, put him down for a nap, play games, and play with his toys. Then when the infant was born, I would help on date nights since the mom was home during the day. I would feed them dinner, entertain them, and put them to bed.

I've been blessed with the opportunity to do lots of children's theatre which I greatly enjoy because kids aren't afraid to voice their opinions, and seeing the joy and impact the performances are having on them is truly incredible. My job has also taken me around the country on tour and at regional theaters. I love traveling and trying out new restaurants in different cities, but I am also very close with my family, so when I'm home I try to spend as much time with them as possible. If you know me, you know I love my family and my friends. I love instilling this love for others, as well as this optimism and joy for life with the children I have the opportunity to meet.
