About me
I had a nanny as a child who still remains one of the most important people in my life. Growing up with an older sister who babysat, I was always eager to do it myself. We had a neighborhood with many kids, so I tagged along to her jobs from the age of nine or ten, and learned early on that I loved to play with kids! I began working as a mother’s helper and babysitter back in fifth grade, and have done it ever since!
I have many years of childcare experience. I have been a sitter for all different ages from infants to teenagers. I have worked as an after-school sitter, date night sitter, travel nanny, and on-call sitter for new families. I also have worked as a children’s voice teacher, camp counselor, and in interactive children’s theater. This means I am good at handling just about any childcare situation that is thrown my way. I can step into a family and quickly learn their routines. I am also great at remaining calm in all situations, and dealing with separation anxiety or kids otherwise new to sitters.
I currently am a kids’ yoga instructor and children’s dance teacher. The past few holiday seasons, I have performed in an interactive family holiday show, where I played many different games with the kids. I really enjoy helping kids use their imaginations, and seeing their creativity flourish! When I work with kids, I am a hands-on kind of sitter. I do not like the kids to just sit and watch TV! With me, they will play, do art projects, read stories, talk, and learn. My favorite part of working with kids is their reminder to me of what is really important in life.
