About me

Hello, my name is Celeste and I am passionate about working and caring for kids! Ever since I can remember, I have had a wild imagination and I have always loved being creative. Whether it be putting on a singing performance in my driveway at 5 or making my own posters. I choose to find the joy and positivity in everything I do. As an actor, I work in a field that can be difficult but even in times of rejection, I remind myself to keep moving forward. I put this passion for joy into my work as a sitter. I find that creativity is so important to being an engaging caregiver.

My true experience as a childcare giver began when I became co-founder and camp director for Lake Oswego Club Hip Hop. Which is a hip-hop dance camp for ages five through twelve. I began the camp with my older sister when we were in high school. The camp involved teaching dance, crafts and games. We would have up to 25 children at a time so it taught me so much about patience and how to engage children. I am confident as a nanny today because of these experiences. The camp continued during the summers and school holidays for around 10 years. It was amazing to see the camp and our style of teaching evolve in that time!

In addition to my camp director experience, I have worked as a part-time nanny for multiple families. In my time post college, I worked with a family with two girls ages 7 and 9. For this family I helped after school and on date nights. It was with them that I got my experience doing everything from after school pick up, to homework time to meal prep. When I moved to New York, I worked with ages ranging from 4 to 12. For the last year, I worked for a family with two boys ages 4 and 6 as a part-time after school nanny. I took them on the subway, to activities and helped with bath! During the pandemic, I have been working with Virtual Babysitter's Club, as a kid's dance teacher over zoom. This experience has taught me how to engage with children in a virtual setting.
I am a confident care-giver because of these experiences! I love working with kids and I find that my joy and creativity is what makes me a unique sitter.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to have a strong career as an actor and to be proud of what I do. If that means broadway, then amazing, but I am more concerned with being fulfilled and happy as a performer! I also hope I am still joyful in my day to day life and surrounded with people I love that share my passions!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love doing arts and crafts! I find that it can be really great for kids to work with their hands and imagination! I also like to focus on what the child is passionate about. If the child does not enjoy dance parties and wants to play trains then we will play trains! This is a time where it is important for children to explore their interests. I think part of my joy in life comes from exploring what I love. I want these children to feel safe to do the same thing!
