About me

My childcare experience began in 1994 with the birth of my baby brother! (Just kidding!)

I began my childcare career at the age of 12 when families in my small Midwest town hired me to babysit for date nights and Spring breaks. I have always had a special connection with children as long as I can remember. About 15 years later, I have worked as an assistant teacher in childcare facilities, as a princess performer for children's birthday parties and special events, and as a full-time nanny. I have also spent time in the Dominican Republic and Tijuana, Mexico working with children who live in poor conditions. It is something that has changed my life and has led me to have deeper compassion for the people around me.

Most recently, I have been a full-time, live out nanny for a single family for 3 years. Their daughter was 1.5 when I began with them. When I left, she was 4.5 and her younger brother was 1.5. I had him from 6 months onward. I have also been a regular occasional babysitter for a family with three children over the past 3 years. They were 6, 4, and 1 when I began with them and now they are 9, 7, and 3. The youngest of these siblings is a beautiful boy with downs syndrome.

I have experience with multiple children at the same time of multiple ages and the same ages. I have extensive experience with bottle feeding, diapering, preparing food and coming up with fun, healthy meals and snack ideas, potty training, fine and major motor skills development, teaching colors, numbers, ABC's, writing and reading, implementing a routine and nap time, music and movement, story time and homework help, and arts and crafts. I love to watch children grow, learn, and play. Children learn so much through their own play. They learn to solve problems, they learn compassion, they learn to come up with their own story and use their imaginations. I love to see how children create through play and drawing pictures. I love to see into their world and I love to see the world through their eyes. I believe childhood is precious and should be cherished.

Outside of child care, I love exploring new coffee shops with friends, attending broadway shows, shopping for local, organic food and coming up with new recipes. I am passionate about all things health and wellness including healthy sugar free/allergen free baking and discovering new whole food recipes for nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Pilates, yoga, and strength training are new found hobbies to add to my healthy lifestyle! I also love to sing, read books, and be with friends any chance I get. I am someone who is responsible, compassionate, outgoing, fun, and respectful. I truly care about the people in my life and always have a heart to develop lasting relationships.
