About me

Hello, I'm Ashley! Fabulous to meet your virtual acquaintance!

I grew up in sunny San Diego California and still have that sunny disposition despite living in New York for the past 12 years (am I a New Yorker yet?)! I am the oldest of three kids and my siblings are my best friends to this day. I am currently a part-time online grad student working on my masters of social work and look forward to going into private practice psychotherapy upon obtaining my LCSW. In my down time, I still love to do all the same things I loved as a kid! I love to go for long walks, listen to jazz, travel the world, cook and spend time with loved ones.

They say it takes a village to raise children, yet so many of us don't have a village! I love having the opportunity to help build a village with smart sitters and collaborate with parents and kids to make their lives a bit easier. I have great interpersonal communication skills and am very adaptable, which makes it easy for me to jump around to different families, blending in with each families unique lifestyle, schedules and day to day motions. I also love finding creative ways to keep kids engaged and connected to the world around them. Last but not least, I am happy to clean, cook and help out with random tasks around the house if needed.

All kids deserve safety, respect and a loving and supporting environment to help them flourish in life but it's important for kids to get out of their comfort zone from time to time so that they may build confidence and learn from new experiences. I love to support kids in the challenge of facing their fears, whether they are having anxiety about making new friends, stage fright or reading/math comprehension. I have worked with children ranging from infancy to high school. As someone who is chatty but also a good listener, I really enjoy getting to know each individual child and learning about their imagination and experience. Additionally, I am a world traveller and love sharing with people what I've learned from my travels about different cultures, languages, cuisines, art, and science.

Thank you for your consideration :)

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to be running my own private practice as a tele-health psychotherapist while living on a farm somewhere in France with my partner, tending to goats and writing plays during my free time.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Drawing, painting, sewing, filmmaking, writing poems/short stories,/scripts/plays/songs etc., making up games (imaginary or material), playing sports, learning languages, learning how to think critically and ask questions, how to do research and look for answers.
