About me

I have been babysitting for the past 11 years, taking care of children from ages 0 to 15, and I absolutely love it! I adore this city and all of its opportunities. I have a passion for Theatre, and am currently applying to graduate school for next fall to get my Master's in Theatre Education. Trying to get rush tickets for Broadway shows in my spare time is one of my favorite activities!

Working with children is one of my passions in life, and I am hoping to one day be a full-time teacher, changing lives through acting, singing, and dancing. In 2011, I was an after-school enrichment teacher for grades K-4, teaching theatre, art history, and literacy. I definitely use my background in education when babysitting, and I love to come up with fun, educational projects to do with the children I look after. I believe through performing and fine arts, children gain confidence in themselves, and I also believe that it helps them academically, socially and emotionally.

I also love to cook! I can cook for various health needs, but I try to make my recipes as healthy as possible. In a past job, I cooked for a family that was vegan and gluten free; I'm definitely up for any culinary challenge!

When taking care of children, I always make sure there is trust between us so they feel safe and secure. I always put safety first, but I also make sure they have a very active, fun, and creative environment to grow, learn, and play in.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Teaching theatre! I want to be a full-time drama teacher at the high school or university level, and eventually want to have children of my own. Hopefully in five years, I'll have my Master's and be on my way to establishing a successful career in the arts. My love for working with children will carry into my long-term goals for myself, and I plan to continue babysitting through graduate school.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies in 2011, so I carry that into my babysitting jobs. I currently coach children and teenagers with their singing and theatrical pursuits while babysitting, and I also used to teach Art History to grades K-4th grade, so I am always up for fun art projects!
