About me

Hey there! I'm Kevin, a Manhattan based artist and caretaker. I have cared for folks of all ages from 2 years old to adults. I have always been a compassionate, responsible human and, as such, have found fulfillment in childcare in addition to a career in the arts.

As a person, I am patient, kind, and intelligent. I believe that my experience as a teacher, tutor, and director allows me to specialize the way I care for each family: it is very important to adapt one's babysitting methods to the needs of the parents and children one is caring for. I am always available to engage a child's imagination as well as available for all things academic.

I love to provide a comfortable way for kids to be themselves and grow as people while enjoying life and nourishing a hunger for knowledge. As an artist, I love igniting childrens' imaginations and helping children create art for their friends and family. I work as an acting, singing, and piano coach in my spare time and would be happy to share some of these lessons with families!

I work equally well with kids of all genders. Having worked in childcare for the last ten years, I have experience with almost all kinds of children. Young girls and boys to high school teens, I can do it all. I live in Washington Heights and am able to cater to all Manhattan families. I am prompt and communicative so that parents can have the benefit of trust in their sitters. The less parents have to worry about their kids, the happier I am.

I am great at diffusing conflict and love to turn day-to-day moments into opportunities for learning. Let me know how you'd like your child to grow and I will help you to do so!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to be acting and directing on and off Broadway- full time! I would love to have a townhouse in Brooklyn with a little backyard for my dog and I hope to know how to cook delicious meals that follow the paleo diet. I hope to develop my non-profit theatre company into an accessible and innovative foundation for LGBTQ+ artists to develop their work and earn a respectable wage for doing so. In five years I'll be on the cusp of thirty years of age. It would certainly be nice to have a partner. It would be incredible to have a salary and a 401k. I hope to be able to support my mother a bit, as that's the year she plans to retire. In five years I hope that I can look back on this time of life and be appreciative of my time spent as a part time babysitter while getting my theatrical career on its feet. I have always found comfort and fulfillment in working with people, especially families. I have been very fortunate to learn a lot in my life from teachers, family members, and friends, and look forward to what I may learn from new experiences. In five years I hope to be a fantastic uncle for the children I hope my siblings have by then! I don't know if I'll have any children of my own by that point but some of my friends may. I hope to provide positive influence for these kids and provide support for the parents whenever possible. Hopefully in 5 years I'll have enough money to babysit my friends and family's kids for free!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to engage children in all things artistic! I am very athletic and am happy to play any sport with kids but am especially adept at all things creative.I have played baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, etc. and have dabbled in just about every major art form a kid could imagine. I love to teach kids how to play instruments and sing. Most children enjoy writing songs for their parents and siblings. Children also enjoy writing lyrics and poetry as a means of venting heavy feelings or having a good laugh. I love to teach kids how to draw with various tools like watercolors, finger paints, stencils, etc. and, what's more, I can definitely get crafty on a budget. I love to teach kids how to act and direct so we can create plays and movies for the families to enjoy. I have 10+ years of experience as an acting teacher for kids and adults and am happy to spark the imagination with a little theatre. As a professional tutor, I am capable and willing to help the kids with any school activities and also develop creative activities centered around the concepts being learned in school. I have enjoyed cooking basic meals and desserts with kids who want to contribute something to the family dinner. Anything that the parents need me to cover, I am happy to do.
