About me

I have spent the last several years following various paths of service. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed working with numerous homeless communities and charitable organizations, I have since discovered working with children is truly what fills my heart with joy. Children are not only our future, but reflections of ourselves. I feel it is vital to cultivate growth, creativity, knowledge and individuality in each child's life. I believe in the child-centered-approach; fostering each child's strengths and interests so they can fully embrace learning and feel supported.

After earning my bachelor's degree in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Alabama, I moved to New York City to work as a caregiver. I have been with one family since their daughter was four months old. She is now an active 2.5-year-old attending Mandarin, Gymnastics, Cooking and STEM classes weekly and lives by a strict Vegetarian diet. It has been the pleasure of my life witnessing her grow into the strong independent toddler that she is. I am also a date-night sitter for a family with three children: ages 5, 9, and 11. It is always an adventure finding an activity to entertain all three of their unique creative minds!

Last summer, I had the unique privilege of traveling to Peru to work with families in rural areas of Cusco. My team and I set up clinics for people to seek medical care. In these clinics, I worked with several children; recording their pulse, weight, height and administering medications and hemoglobin tests for children under 12 years old. We also visited local elementary school classrooms of children ages 8 - 11 years old and gave an exciting an interactive presentation on the importance of hygiene. Currently, I am certified in CPR/First Aid for Infant and Toddlers. I am also pursuing a bachelor's degree in Nursing.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A Registered Nurse! I also hope to expand on my education by going to graduate school and become a Nurse Practioner. I would love to be able to work independently so that I can have the freedom to help as many people as possible. And in the process, I hope to have filled up my passport book in 5 years.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love doing a wide range of activities including: arts and crafts, cooking, singing, dancing, reading, writing, and practicing other languages. I am prepared to learn and try any activity that sparks an interest of the child.
