About me

If I had to describe myself in three words they would be kind, enthusiastic and patient! Growing up, my 3 sisters and I decided to offer babysitting services to families in the neighborhood. We called ourselves the Hernon Sisterhood Babysitting Club! Our agreement was that if one sister could not work, one of the others would step in. Working with multiple families at such a young age laid the foundation for lifelong passion.

Following 4 years of consistent babysitting, I pursued other childcare related opportunities such as lifeguarding, teaching swim lessons and substitute teaching. For many years, I taught swim lessons to children ages 3-10 at a public pool in my hometown. In the mornings, I taught group swim lessons to groups of about 10-15 children per each class and private swim lessons in the afternoons. I developed a great passion for teaching and working with children. Subsequently, I transitioned to substitute teaching which I still do today! I've worked primarily in ABA specialized classrooms with children ages 6-11.

I have extensive experience working with children and young adults with disabilities. My experience includes working one-on-one with children with Autism, Down Syndrome, ADD, ADHD and more. I enjoy the process of watching children learn and grow as individuals. Each and every child is unique and special in their own way. They all deserve a chance to shine bright!
