About me

I have been working with children in various capacities since high school. These experiences have included working as a tutor, pre-school teacher and in-home babysitter. I have worked with children of all ages ranging from infant to young adult. Through these experiences, I have found something unique to love about each and every age group. The bulk of my experience has been as an educator. I have worked in various classroom settings and designed curriculum for infants, toddlers, pre-school age children and college freshman and sophomores. As an undergraduate, I studied mathematics and economics! I actively work to encourage that analytical mindset and curiosity in children under my care.

My childcare philosophy is heavily inspired by the Reggio Emilia and RIE methods. I have worked for many years in pre-schools that based their curriculums on these philosophies. I believe that children and adults learn best when given the freedom to explore their interests. By allowing children to pursue and explore their interests, we are helping them build confidence which allows them to grow into a successful adults. That being said, I also believe that structure is very important for children and provides them the stability necessary for creating a safe environment. Encouraging children to be curious and to pursue their curiosities wholeheartedly inspires everything that I do.
