About me
Hello! I'm an engagement-driven nanny with nearly a decade of instructional experience as a teacher and curriculum manager in NYC. I have a master's degrees in both Education and Creative Writing and bring my love for storytelling and literacy to the families I work with. I'm experienced working with neurodivergent children, having served as a special education service provider and literacy interventionist for kids aged 5-13. Developing deep and respectful relationships is central to my childcare philosophy, as well as humor, joy, and curiosity.
Most recently, I worked with a 6 year-old boy I'd previously taught in kindergarten! He's super spirited, high-energy, curious, funny, musical, loves sharks, dinosaurs, sports, and hands-on play. This was an after-school role with some household assisting around shopping and scheduling. A typical day included grocery shopping and meal prep, school pick-up, soccer practice, homework help, dinner, and bath. Prior to this position, I worked with toddlers and infants in shorter-term capacities around my full-time teaching schedule.
I'm based in Park Slope, Brooklyn. I'd be an ideal match for families looking for someone communicative, flexible, and intuitive. I'm happy to abide by a provided schedule of activities and meals, and equally able to come up with my own or improvise on short notice. I'm handy in the kitchen and love to cook. I am also happy to assist with any range of household tasks. I'm experienced in managing multiple pick-up and drop-off schedules, extracurricular uniforms and supplies, and school/homework support.
I grew up in New Jersey and received my undergraduate degree from George Washington University. I'm a native Russian speaker and enjoy reading, gardening, and traveling in my free time.
