About me

I started as a mother's helper at a young age and have loved working with kids ever since. Throughout middle school and high school I regularly babysat for families in the small town in California where I grew up. As an undergraduate, I joined Barnard College's Babysitting Agency and worked with many families in New York. Meanwhile, my interest in child development was growing and I took classes in developmental psychology and neuroscience. Following graduation, I began working on studies of child development and in an early intervention classroom for toddlers with autism spectrum disorder at New York Presbyterian Hospital. I continue to work with families through my clinical work and research as a Ph.D. candidate in clinical psychology. I also still love to babysit and have worked as a tutor along the way as well.

I have worked with children as young as 18 months through the teen years. I love babysitting because it is so fun to engage with kids through games and topics that they are enthusiastic about. I work to provide structure and consistency while being silly and having lots of fun. It is such a privilege to be invited into families homes, to learn the routines that work for each family, and to get know each child and what he or she is excited about.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

a pediatric neuropsychologist. I love working with kids and families and hope to be able to do so through this work that connects brain functioning to behavior to help identify what treatments would be most effective in addressing difficulties kids are experiencing.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

are educational and practical. I think there is a lot that can be learn through most activities, such as geometry through Magna-Tiles or communication skills when sharing toys. I typically like to build off of what kids are interesting in doing but also have activities I'm happy to share if they're looking for a new activity.
