About me

I am a proud native New Yorker and the youngest of four girls to an ambitious Harlem restaurant owner mom. As a child, I could be found dancing at our local community center and performing for anyone in the neighborhood who would watch. I was the artistic one of my siblings and enjoyed a creatively enriched childhood. This early passion allowed me to participate in the up bringing and artistic development of my three nieces and nephew. I attended the Professional Performing Arts School high school in midtown and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy on the upper west side. As a native New Yorker, I understand what it’s like to grow up in this unique city. This city has a wonderful way of developing independence and awareness in a very special way. The elements of New York City can be challenging to navigate but I have a strong sense of how to help with this varied experience for the children in my care. There is a sixth sense that I believe only a New Yorker can help develop in a specialized way. A balancing act of responsibility while fostering safe ways to let a kid just be a kid!

Professionally, I have performed across the globe as well as regional stages and eventually making my Broadway debut in Mamma Mia. Followed by RENT and most recently Motown the Musical. This experience gives me great ways to engage in creative activities. I’ve had the privilege of helping my kids with music theory, voice lessons and art projects. Connecting these activities to academic learning is paramount. I was once a kid with energy to spare and found the connection that fused art with academia. For example, one of kids didn’t like math but after showing her how Musical note values informed her violin time signatures she blossomed. She is currently thriving in the subject! I’ve spent many years as a caretaker for my mother with dementia and through this experience have furthered my passion for care taking. I enjoy cooking very very much and often arrange cooking projects as an activity. I find that picky eaters are much more like to try things they had a hand in creating. I love to provide home cooked, kid friendly meals whenever needed and possible. This activity also helps with structure and expression. My sitter philosophy is “firm with love”.

Ultimately, I enjoy sitting because I can be a helping hand in being a mentor for our New York kids who are our future. In the hustle and bustle of the city there are pockets of love and enrichment that I hope to be a part of. Every child is different and deserves individual development and guidance. I’m as proud a performer as I am a NYC sitter! I am currently working on a food blog and well as cookbook and continue to pursue acting and musical theatre ventures. I also enjoy the beach, sun and nature walks. Live music and supporting the arts are always on the agenda.

LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE….

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Continuing the pursuit and enjoyment of happiness and personal development. Challenging myself in a brand new way that I have no premonition of at this time.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Musical enjoyment, developing natural and creative talent. Helping with homework, after school snacks and dinner prep. I have worked with infants and toddlers. During which, high energy activities and well as meal prep and bedtimes had to be strictly adhered to. I have also sat for lots of 5-9 year olds. Arranging play dates with other sitters and parents. Spending outdoor activity time In parks and play gyms. I tend to find out what my older, pre-teen and teenager kids, are interested in to bond over. Sports, music or other interests serve as a bridge for interaction for older or more reserved children. Play, play, play!
