About me
I have been helping families and their children for the past 10 years, and I am thrilled to offer my skills and experience to SmartSitting! I have cared for children of all ages in both home and professional settings, and have enjoyed getting to know families with kids in all stages of development. I am empathetic and creative-minded; I care about setting boundaries. These boundaries allow children to grow and thrive, while emphasizing that their voices and opinions are valid and important. I find that kids have a very unique perspective on the world around them and I love sharing in their creativity and imagination!
In addition to childcare, I have a passion for cooking. I have worked as a professional baker and cook, and spent a year teaching an after-school cooking class at an elementary school. I love sparking creativity in children, whether it be through cooking, crafting, dancing, or playing games. I bring an open mind, a strong sense of structure, and a goal of having fun to any family I care for. I believe that my role as a babysitter is about more than just ensuring the safety of a child; it is an opportunity to expand teach, while creating an environment that fosters personal growth and brings joyful moments to the child's life.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
- Multiples
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Developing a successful reproductive health education curriculum for youth, making homemade bread every week, and finishing up a masters degree in Public Health.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Crafting (watercolors, drawing, making paper snowflakes and other creations), baking and cooking, active play such as soccer, frisbee, or running around on the playground while making up fun games. I love to read stories, sing, and dance with all the kids I care for.
