About me

Hi there! Maggie here. I'm an actor and advocate for kids. To me, stories are the unifier that cut to the core of the human experience on our individual and collective journeys towards freedom and wholeness. I find this to be as relevant in childcare as in acting! I have been working in entertainment for over a decade. I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina with my twin brother. I moved to New York City to attend NYU and I graduated a semester early with honors. I lived in the city for 12 years. Pre-pandemic, I spent my time producing Shakespeare with a theater company I co-founded. I have relocated to Los Angeles for this next chapter of my life.

I have been babysitting for over 15 years. I started babysitting at age 12, as a mother's helper. I progressed to regular weekend babysitting and date nights in High School for neighborhood families. I continued working with children ranging from 2-12 years old throughout college and beyond. I worked for 5 years as a weekend and travel babysitter for one Manhattan family, focusing on their youngest daughter and her routine (bedtime, bath time, meals). I worked for 10 years with 2 girls as they aged from toddlers to middle schoolers doing pick-ups and drop-offs, adventures around the city, dinner and screen time, homework help, etc as needed. I worked with a smiley baby for 1 school year while mom worked from home. I taught arts-based camps in the summers and after-school classes during the school year to kiddos aged 3-8 for 2 years. Most recently, I went to London for 6 months to live with an American family of 7. I was a personal assistant, managing the house, covid precautions, meals and groceries, returns, traveling with the family, and picking up the youngest 2 from school.

I believe it is an honor to work with children, to create and play with them, and to walk alongside them as they learn about the world. I am a big proponent of balancing structure and affection - two things I think children need most. Most importantly, they should know they are utterly loved as they grow and learn. Encouraging them to create, try again, get back up, laugh it off, and hug it out is super important to me.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Acting on the stage, in films, and all things streaming. I'd like to have a good period piece under my belt and rub shoulders with many great British actors. I hope to have a bigger platform, position, and maybe even a podcast (the three P's)! I hope to be laughing every day. I'd love to be married and heading towards parenthood myself. I hope to be exactly where I need to be to make a living as an actor, continue loving on people, children and doggos, and to tell important stories with grace and truth.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love any and all art projects - drawing, painting, finding things and cutting them out and mixing them up, and creating something new. I love building things, legos are a personal favorite, and I get great satisfaction from putting things away in their place at the end of the day. I am extremely organized and efficient, and Marie Condo is my spirit animal. I love to encourage imagination and creativity as well as an appreciation for the great outdoors and the joy of running around. I love to help teach structure, perspective, forgiveness, and joy. I love to break out a soccer ball or scooter, board game or flashcards, or quiet play and reading. I love reading!
