About me

I was born and raised in the beautiful tropical city of Durban in South Africa. Being the middle child can be a rough full time job at times, literally.
As a middle child of six children, I was brought up by my siblings, and naturally I helped raise my younger siblings. I spent my high school years babysitting and teaching my siblings and cousins how to swim during the summer breaks. I was also the go to swim teacher in our neighbourhood, and in return I got free driving lessons.
In my many years of experience as a childminder in NYC, the families and children I have worked with have taught me so much! Very early on in my journey as a childminder , I learned that every child is unique and that the best way to reach them is through listening to their individual needs. I also learned the importance of having an excellent and open communication with their parents is vital for the child to flourish.
I worked as a full-time nanny watching children while the parents went to work. My primary clients were a family with two kids, a 5-year-old girl (14 months when I met her) and a 3-year-old boy (since he was an infant). I was with the family for 7 years. I entertained the children, planned our day and coordinate activities for the kids and took them to play dates. I meal prepared, cleaned after the kids and I have also provided as needed babysitting for other families. My most recent clients are a family with a 3-old-boy and a 14-year-old girl! While I helped with regular childcare for their youngest child, I also enjoyed giving tutoring and homework help to their teenage daughter!
I’m very confident in the work I provide as a childcare provider. I firmly believe that providing an excellent environment for kids is fundamental. This allows them to thrive and challenge themselves more. I know I can provide this kind of environment and more!
