About me
Hi! I’m Lisa! I was born in the Bronx, raised in Westchester county and now reside back in the Bronx. I have been working with children since before I could legally drive- from working in Children’s church in my childhood church, to tutoring, to babysitting families from church and my friend’s children, I have more than 10 years experience working directly with children.
I am a Special Education teacher in the Bronx. I have been teaching for 5 years. My experience is teaching ranges from preschool- teenagers with developmental disabilities. I absolutely love teaching!
Most people who know me would say I am nurturing, easy to talk to, patient, compassionate and have a big heart. I value my friendships, as they have become a part of my family. I love life and try to enjoy the small things and moments that make me smile. I believe children have the capacity to see and experience life in a way that adults cannot because we are consumed with worry and fear. This is something beautiful and it’s why I love working with children- they’re excited to experience something new, even if it is scary! I believe every child needs encouragement and kindess to grow into the adults they’re meant to be. I am confident that who I am supports those necessary attributes.
