About me

I was born in Trinidad and Tobago and migrated to the United States. In my teenage years I became a founding member of a youth group in my district. This became my foundation to working with children of all ages. What I did came naturally and I was a source of strength, a leader and an inspiration to the growing children. My team was able to organize educational, recreational and social activities which empowered the children of the community and I felt a deep sense of dedication towards them.

Migrating to the United States brought with it a new culture and significant change. I began my employment in babysitting and recognized that working with children in New York City is quite rewarding. Since then I have always worked with and gained experience with diverse families and children of all ages. It is a career that I find fulfilling and its makes me totally happy at the end of the day-when I know that I have done my best and the child/children are happy. I am also a mother of 2 grown children and have gained a lot of parental experience through them both.

I love working with children because you get the opportunity to see little babies grow and develop their own personalities. I can't explain the happiness that bubbles deep within your heart. Working with children they bring smiles throughout the day- even a tantrum can bring laughter! I can say that I am determined, possess a great sense of resiliency and motivated to perform to the best of my ability. I am a team player and always aim to achieve the best possible result in any given situation. I am eclectic and outgoing. I am a great communicator and has gained most of my knowledge through life experiences which have given me a sense of resiliency and helps me to assimilate and accept our diverse community. One of the most important things that I have learnt from working with children is that every child is special, different and unique and no single approach will work for all. I can say that I possess that sense of understanding, flexibility and patience to work with children and accomplish the goals that the team seeks to achieve.
