About me

From Scranton to Pittsburgh, PA, to Northern California, and most recently Brooklyn, caring for children has been a consistent arc in my life narrative. From babysitting and nannying children ranging from infancy to 7 years, teaching all ages of kids yoga and movement classes in Brooklyn, in-home tutoring, leading teens in learning job readiness, food justice, and gardening, to homework and game clubs, and leading a multi-level girl scout troop, these places have led to me children of all ages, backgrounds, and diverse family situations.

These experiences, coupled with my background in psychology, inform my philosophy that centers around fostering spaces where each child feels safe, respected, and supported. I bring my creative background and passion for music, dance, writing and yoga to aid in the creation of these loving spaces. My background in psychology gives me insight into children's developmental phases, and helps me tailor my approach with each individual child.

My focus when working with children is to foster joy and growth. I enjoy learning from and expanding each child's unique interests. I encourage self-directed play within a structured routine.

I keep coming back to this work and I understand it as a blessing. Each child has brought such joy into my life. Not only am I able to share my passions, I am also pushed to grow in ways I never expect—a side-effect of child care for which I am always grateful.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to share movement in a way that allows creative expression! Part of the way I share movement is through interactive story-making, where children use shapes, movement, and stories to express themselves and work together.
