About me

I have always had a special connection with children. Even as a kid, relatives would be so impressed at my ability to stay calm and soothe their younger children. When I moved to New York for college, babysitting and nannying was always a natural way for me to earn extra money. It was a way for me to have independence in terms of my finances and always felt like a fun activity, instead of a job that added stress to my already demanding school schedule.

I have worked as a writer and editor for 5 years, since graduating from school. As many people know, print journalism has been in a state of flux in recent years. I have worked at multiple magazines that have folded, and while it seemed like the end of the world for a time, I always had childcare to fall back on, and it has always brought me joy.

Living in New York, far from one's family can be tough, but the bonds I have formed with all the families I have worked for allow me to be a part of a surrogate family. It is nice to have milestones in their lives that you can be a part of. There are some families I have known since their children were just a few months old, and now are heading to pre-school. It really warms my heart when you are considered a part of the family.
