About me

Tyler Knott Gregson once said, "We learn of magic from a young age, believing in it because we are taught it exists. As we grow, we become surrounded by those that lost that belief, and far too many of us lose it too. Fight this loss with all you have, be one of those who never stops believing, be the one who teaches others the same."

When I was 13, and my younger brother was 7, I remember him asking me what I wanted to be when I grow up. When I responded by asking what he thought, he said "I think you should be a professional soccer player! Or an author. Or maybe you could fly to the moon!" Now I didn't become the next Mia Hamm or Neil Armstrong (I'm working on that second one), but who I did become, is someone who's never stopped believing in that innocence.

I started babysitting my younger brothers when I was 12 years old, my first professional job was at 14 years old with a family of 4 siblings.

From then on, I nannied every summer for the last 10 years, ranging from teaching special needs, to substituting from 2nd grade to 12th grade, and taking on summer nannying positions in different homes. Most recently, I've been an English Language Arts teacher for 8th Grade.

Throughout it all, my passion for teaching and working with children has only grown deeper. My favorite part about being with kids is experiencing and sharing their overwhelming sense of curiosity and adventure. Whether its riding a bike or reading a new book, children truly are the world's greatest gift, and I think being a part of these moments in their lives is one of the best opportunities to be given.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I think seeing children getting excited about their favorite story or learning how to read or write a new word is one of the greatest things. I love working on that with them, or even just reading for fun. If kids are involved in sports, being able to help them play catch, kick around a soccer ball, or let them show off their new dance or gymnastic routine is so important and exciting for me, as well. The most important part about spending time with children is making sure they are learning and that they are happy.
