About me

Growing up the eldest of 4 children, I grew up caring for my younger siblings in a small town just outside of Buffalo, NY. With the "built-in" experience at an early age, I have continued in childcare, working with children of all ages- ranging from 5 months to 13 years. Over the years I've worked as a full-time nanny, part-time sitter, teaching artist, and now part-time classroom teacher, where I have developed leveled curriculum for children ages 4- 14. In these positions, I've facilitated pick-ups and drops-offs from schools, and events, aided in meal prep, helped with simple household errands/tasks and have maintained important family routines with care and positivity.

I truly value my experiences working with children and I have an invested interest in encouraging young humans to utilize their imaginations and creativity for problem-solving, artistry, and self-expression. Currently, I'm learning how to create and facilitate these opportunities in pursuing my Masters in Theatre Education at Hunter College.

When I'm not babysitting, I'm working with children as a part-time Theatre Teacher in the New York City Public school system. My studies have given me insight as to how children process information, and how to facilitate environments which are fun and conducive to learning while using language for positive reinforcement. These skills are helpful in the classroom, and also transfer over to my personal interactions while babysitting.

Over the years I've had many wonderful experiences with childcare including taking children to Broadway shows, viewing children's performances, and facilitating impromptu living room dance recitals. I love to spend time outdoors with children, and enjoy taking children to parks so they can combine healthy physical movement with nature exploration.
