About me
My name is Astride Noel and I am originally from Newton, Massachusetts. I am Haitian-American I have eight siblings. By the time I was 12, I was babysitting for the parents at my church. I have spent my whole life taking care of children at home, camp, church, and everywhere else that life has taken me.
I went to school in Chicago where I studied film and television. I am a screenwriter/creator. I was a 2020 Sesame Fellow, and I received a development deal with the Sesame Workshop. I have freelanced on several unannounced projects with DreamWorks, Amazon Studios, and I'm currently writing on Netflix's upcoming show, "Dino Daycare." I love writing about young people and I draw from my 20 years of child care experience. My work focuses on inspiring young audiences to find their own voices and nourish their individuality, which is my aim when I babysits as well.
I have traveled with families, done overnights, and I've worked as a live-in. I am a pro when it comes to establishing sleep schedules, potty training, developing comprehension skills, and more. I have worked with Waldorf and Montessori families, and I'm skillful at adopting different parenting styles. I am a big believer of educational fun time, and I keep kids busy with adventurous outings, art, music, science experiments, baking projects and reading.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I like to teach life skills such as cooking, making the bed, folding, cleaning up, how to properly cross the street, use the bus and trains and so on. I have a theory that teaching children responsibility is one of the best ways to limit misbehavior because they then have the room to set their own boundaries, and often times they want to get things right when given that chance. Plus, children love it when you trust them to do things on their own.
