About me

Hi, I'm Emily! I'm originally from East Lansing, Michigan, and now am a Brooklyn-based performer and nanny. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2015 with degrees in Musical Theatre and Business Administration.

I've worked as a nanny in New York, Chicago, and Michigan for over seven years and have experience with all ages, including infants. Recently, I’ve worked as an after school sitter for families with children in elementary or middle school, but work with lots of families as a date night sitter. While nannying, I love to read books, get creative with arts and crafts, and go let out some energy in the park! I come from a very academic family, and school was always a huge part of my life, so I love to help older kids with homework. I am also CPR certified for all ages.

I come from a big Italian family, and inherited a love of cooking, so I'm happy to prepare meals for your children. Growing up with two veterinarians as parents, I also feel more than comfortable taking care of family pets.
My philosophy as a nanny is that communication is the most important thing. I love to know the specifics of a kid’s nightly ritual, their favorite meals, or what books they love to read so that I can give them the most comfortable experience while someone new is in their home! I think that I maintain a good balance between a fun and energetic friend, and a steady, caregiving presence. I want the kids and I to have fun together, but for them to also know that I’m there to provide structure and care.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Still in New York pursuing performing, and to continue to be surrounded by my amazing family and friends!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

As a performer, I love nannying kids who have an interest in the performing arts! But if your children aren’t interested in singing, I also love to go to the park and play soccer or tag. For kids in school, I enjoy helping them with homework. I was a passionate student growing up, and still love history, science, and writing. Reading is a huge part of my life, and was a massive part of my childhood. My sister was a star athlete, and I was known for never watching any of her games because I was always reading in the bleachers. To this day, I don’t go anywhere without a good book. I love to read bedtime stories to younger kids and geek out about Harry Potter with teens.
