About me
My name is Holly Grum and I am from Exton, PA. I received my BA in Theater with a concentration in Acting from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and most recently graduated with my MFA in Acting from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. I absolutely love living in NYC!
Another passion of mine is caring for children. I was a mother’s helper in the sixth grade and have been caring for children of wonderful families ever since. I have experience with children ages newborn to twelve years old. I always find a way to keep children engaged through many age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, adventures outside, sports, local museums and parks, playing pretend, singing and dancing, and much more! I have a driver’s license and experience driving children to and from home for a variety of activities including: school, speech therapy, museums, parks, and the pool. When working with your family you can expect an energetic, reliable, creative, and compassionate person who cares deeply for children.
I believe that we need to pay more attention to the lessons that children can teach us. Children live solely in the present moment and are constantly looking for meaningful connection. I believe the imaginations of children should be nurtured and supported and given more opportunity to be expressed. As a caretaker for children, I work to get children up, moving, and using their imaginations in as many ways as possible!
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
- Teenagers
- Multiples
In 5 years, I hope to be...
In five years I hope to still be in NYC making my living as a performance artist.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love sharing my passion for performance with children. I have helped children write, direct, create props, and pick out costumes for a play we worked on. I also enjoy empowering children to learn new things like being in the kitchen. I really enjoy being outside with children and letting their imaginations lead us to new adventures.
