About me

I first began babysitting when I was thirteen years old after completing a training course. Since then, I have continued to work with children for the past nine years as a babysitter throughout high school and as an educator while I was in college. Through my different experiences, I have had the opportunity to work with children from ages 1 1/2 up to 13 years old.

One of my biggest priorities is to establish a safe and comforting environment for the families I am working with so the kids have the freedom to play. Children have an incredible capacity for storytelling and creativity that I am constantly inspired by. Kindness and patience have been my two greatest resources while working in classrooms or in offices. I have been a vegetarian for over eight years, though I am still familiar with preparing non-vegetarian meals.

Coming from a background in education, my goal truly is to encourage children to be themselves. I am a part of their team. It is my hope they will share their interests with me so I can think of games or activities that are exciting for them. Learning has always been important to me, and I try to set that example for the children I work with by engaging with their interests.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I have found encouraging children's imaginations through play and stories to be very important. They become more confident in their own abilities to problem solve, to talk with other kids, and to think for themselves. I also enjoy working on reading skills with children. I am an avid reader myself, so I love to pass on my passion for books. When they have free time during the day, I like taking kids to the park, to museums, or to see family-friendly movies (with the parents' approval).
