About me

My goal as a nanny or babysitter is to help children access and understand their emotions so that they can learn how to express and communicate them in healthy ways. I meet every child with compassion, love and understanding and when I work with any family I aim to form genuine connections with each child I work with. My favorite part of working with children is being able to facilitate their natural inclination to play and explore. I believe one of the most important things for healthy childhood development is allowing them to learn by exploring their world.

I am an improvisational comedian so I love being able to goof around and be silly with kids. I encourage and remind children to communicate their needs and their feelings with me so that I can better understand them and so that they, too, can learn to better understand themselves.

I have been working more extensively as a child care provider over the last four years. I have worked as a full-time nanny/tutor, camp counselor, as a day care teacher, as a dance and gymnastics teacher for ages 4 to 7, as a preschool teacher, as a short- and long-term sitter for many different families, and as a math, writing and reading tutor for children ages 4 to 7.

I am excited to work with families who understand that children need to explore and ask questions and make mistakes in order to learn how to navigate their own minds and bodies, and to learn to navigate their world.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I have two very strong interests in comedy and environmental studies. I am currently working toward my masters degree in Earth and Environmental Science at Brooklyn College while occasionally performing and coaching improv around the city.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

One of my favorite things to do with the children I nanny is to play and explore outdoors. I will have snowball fights, set up outdoor scavenger hunts, play tag on the playground, play soccer or basketball, ride bikes, truly anything! I love being outside and can see that being outside also gives children the freedom to really move their bodies, to be loud, to interact with new environments and new people, it's just the best! I also will encourage children's imaginative play. I often create art projects or science experiments for children to do indoors. I am usually down to play most games or do any creative or active activity with the children I work with as long as it is safe and keeps them off of the computer or TV.
