About me

In the last 5 years, I have had the honor to be welcomed into the homes of 3 different families to work as a childcare provider. In high school, my theatre director saw the way I interacted with her girls and asked me to be their after-school manny. I was immediately smitten with the girls and the bond we got to share. I then moved away to attend college and eventually became a manny for another family with two boys. I grew to be a part of that family with as much time as I spent with all of them; after school, on vacations etc.

I went to school for theatre and dance and that is truly where my biggest passions lie. When working with children, I love to have this be a part of their lives as well. Theatre brings imagination to the forefront at all times, and I believe this can have such an impact on a child's development. I am also a very type A person, so I will follow directions to a T and make sure all requests are done properly and efficiently.

I know so much of "childcare" today revolves around putting kids in front of a screen and walking away, but I do not believe in this method. I grew up playing outside and using my imagination with my friends and family, and I love that I am able to look back and have those memories with my loved ones. Overall, I love having fun with the children. Whether that means going on adventures, exploring the city, or having a tea party indoors, I am happy to be making real, lasting memories with the children.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

In 5 years I hope to work full time in the theatre in some facet. Performing is my first love, but as I have discovered with my first job in the city, I love the production side as well. Through it all, though, I know I want to create theatre. I really love everything that is involved in creating a show. Whether it's performing, producing, stage managing, designing, etc. I want to help take a show from a page to stage.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I am such a huge fan of outdoor play time and imaginative games. I really enjoy pulling a lightsaber out of thin air and battling like Luke Skywalker with the kids. I also have quite the Disney playlist on my phone so I am always ready for a Disney Sing-A-Long/Dance Party. I also really enjoy baking, especially with children. They make it such an adventure with every little thing they do.
