About me

Growing up the oldest in my family with 3 younger brothers and 13 younger cousins, I have always been in the caretaker role. Before I was old enough to babysit myself, I idolized the babysitters I had on the occasional Friday or Saturday night. They were fun, easy to be around, and never made me feel like a "little kid." I wanted to be just like them! I was so eager to babysit, and finally started at age 11 with my brothers. And I have not stopped since!

When I decided where to go for college, the caretaker role evolved from babysitting. I knew I wanted to care for people and had a strong interest in biology and the human body. Nursing was the calling for me! Now, having just graduated from Boston College's nursing school, I am pursuing pediatric nursing. My pediatric rotation was easily my favorite. I loved getting to know the children and their parents. Despite the children being some of the sickest I had seen, their optimism, energy, and smiles are what continue to inspire me every day! Safe to say, I love caring for children.

As for me as a person, I am very bubbly and always energetic. And my energy comes from being around people! I rarely like to spend time alone, unless I am deep into a book or studying for my nursing board exam. My dad is from Boston, and yes, that unfortunately means I am a hardcore Boston sports fan. Growing up with all boys, I surprise people with my knowledge of sports. I grew up playing sports year round and still have some of my skills! I would say the most important thing to me is my family and friends. I have a very tight knit family and am best friends with my mom. As for my friends, I am lovingly referred to as the golden retriever: aside from my blonde hair, I am intensely loyal and love to run around!

I treat babysitting as I do pediatric nursing. It is a privilege to care for someone's child, the most important person to them. I do not take it lightly, and I make it my priority that each child is safe, feels loved and also has fun!
