About me

Born in the foggy city of San Francisco, I grew up in large family, as the oldest of four. Traveling from the garden suburbs to the city as a child, I created magical stories to keep my younger brothers and sisters entertained. We turned these stories into plays at home to share with the neighborhood kids and our parents.

I started babysitting at age eleven, working with toddlers and preschool aged children in the neighborhood. I continued babysitting throughout my adolescence. My experience going to an all girls school in high school helped shape my feminist passion for support girls empowerment as part of my babysitting. After living up in the Bay, I moved down to Los Angeles where I studied Theatre Arts and History at Loyola Marymount University. In the past few years, I have worked as a head drama teacher, a nanny, a character performer, and a teaching artist.

After over a decade of childcare experience, I've learned that I love working with kids of all ages. I love creating a Harry Potter dungeons and dragons campaign for a group of sixth grade friends. I love bringing ice magic to a five year old's afternoon with a sing-a-long activity too. I love helping an eight grader tackle her first five paragraph essay and find out what inspires her about writing.

I made the big leap and finally moved to New York City to begin my Masters at New York University, studying theatre education in colleges and communities. I'm so excited for this chapter of my life, living in New York City, studying theatre education at NYU, and hopefully working with you.
