About me

Growing up as an only child, I always gravitated towards spending time with neighbor kids or my younger cousins. I loved getting to practice being a “big sister” with these little friends of mine. That’s why, when I entered my teen years, I intentionally chose to work as a babysitter to continue caring for children. My experience is truly across the board – from assisting in the church nursery, to babysitting for date nights for several families during my undergrad, to working as a lead teacher in a child development center. I have cared for young babies, toddlers, school-aged children, tweens, and teens, and have appreciated the diversity of ages and families I have had the privilege of working for. With a natural nurturing personality, I have loved getting to be involved in the lives of many children throughout my working experience. Gifted in generosity and a desire to serve those around me, I feel that I am a great fit as a nanny and babysitter.

My personal childcare philosophy is to become a partner with a child and their parents, striving to join parents in setting goals for their child and being purposeful in working on and checking for developmental progress. I recognize the significant choice it is to welcome a new person into a family as a caregiver; with this knowledge, I commit to working diligently to aid the family unit as much as possible. Having experience as an art teacher in my Education undergraduate background, I have learned to plan and implement lessons for a variety of learners, to manage children with different temperaments, and to come alongside children, recognizing that each student needs personalized care and teaching. I view it as an honor to walk alongside children and their parents as their caregiver.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Working in a curatorial or education position at a major art museum in New York City. Hopefully still connected with a family or two and helping as a part-time sitter!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I have experience developing art projects for children of all ages so I love to incorporate that in the time I spend caring for children. I love to read and to read to children - infant to school-age. I love to support reading skills and implement reading time as a habit. I find joy in singing songs with and to children as I feel that the creativity and imagination found in music and art are vital aspects of childhood. I love being active with the children I care for by going on walks, going to the park, or practicing sports.
