About me

I've been working with children for over 20 years in a variety of capacities. Currently, I work remotely for the Bridgehampton Care Center, helping elementary-aged students with their homework throughout the day. I grew up in Southampton and am very well versed in the East End. I have additionally been working with a smart sitting family remotely. Being able to offer a sense of consistency in these is inconsistent times is key.

I am a big advocate for nourishing a child's personal voice. When I work with children, I am not here to just watch over them. I want to help nourish their growth as a person while having as much fun as we can while doing it! Explorative play is a huge part of what I do and a great way to have children learn about the world around them in a way that time before COVID 19 didn't allow.

I have worked as a tutor, as a Theatre teacher, both a fulltime and part-time sitter as well as a substitute teacher, and an ESL teaching assistant. I have worked at day camps and given lectures to local schools. I love incorporating learning into our play and play into our learning. There are so many ways for a child to absorb the world around them, and I enjoy the unique ways of retention for each of them.

Trust is the most essential component of any working relationship I may develop. It is important that you know your child is in trustworthy hands while within my care. I want to mirror whatever styles have worked best in your home, but also bring my personal spark of joy into the mix.

I have a valid driver's license/passport, speak conversational Spanish, and am CPR certified. I cook and have had experience with gluten/dairy/meat free households. I am very comfortable driving both the main and backroads of the east end, but have been practicing social distancing since my last in-person booking in March. I am not opposed to running necessary errands or doing light housekeeping. Smiling comes easily to me and I laugh often. I would love to be considered for a job with your family.
