About me

I have had a tremendous amount of experience working with children and adolescents both in my personal and professional life. I began babysitting/tutoring in high school and have enjoyed it and continue to pursue it currently.

I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in social work at New York University and in studying social work I hope to continue to work with children and adolescents in my professional life. This past year, I interned at a middle/high school and held individual and group counseling sessions with students.

Prior to graduate school, I worked as a Child Life Assistant the Mount Sinai Medical Center, where I conducted therapeutic play and activity sessions with children and their families. In these sessions we would engage in art activities, play, cooking sessions, writing, played video games and much more. I also provided play sessions to children at bedside for patients who could not visit the play center. I worked with children between the ages of 2-21. These sessions were some of my most memorable experiences working at Mount Sinai finger painting with toddlers, making bracelets with teens and playing in the toy kitchen with school-age children. I learned so much from working with this population, but most importantly that regardless of a child's diagnoses they always want and deserve to have fun.

While working at Mount Sinai many of the patients I worked with had chronic and terminal illnesses and had physical ailments. Despite these diagnoses, these children were able to play and engage within the space and there were no limitations to having fun! Working at Mount Sinai was incredibly rewarding and it was extremely meaningful to help these patients and families have a more pleasant experience in the hospital.

Aside from my professional experience, I have babysat and tutored for many children over the years. I have enjoyed watching movies, baking, playing, writing and reading with children. While babysitting I have taken care of children during date night, picked them up from school, made dinner and helped with bedtime activities. I also have many nieces and nephews who I love to spend time with which has also helped me build my skills working with children of many ages.

Overall, I have enjoyed working with children and adolescents both in my personal and professional life and look forward to having fun with them more in the future!
