About me

Hey, Y'all! My name is Natalie and I'm originally from Birmingham, Alabama. I was just 10 years old when I got my first gig in childcare - I volunteered as a youth leader for a daytime summer camp in my community. Since then I haven't looked back! I started babysitting at the age of 14 and during the summer time worked as a camp counselor at an overnight summer camp. I really enjoyed engaging with and teaching kids from a young age.

In college, I nannied for a family who had a 5-month old boy. I was able to be with them for about two years before graduation and moving away. I loved entertaining him and helping him strengthen his physical and verbal skills as he grew. After college graduation, I was hired as an actor by Barter Theater in Virginia where I helped develop workshops for students ages 3 to 18 years old. I then got to lead these workshops with the students after they came to see the play my castmates and I were performing in. I loved getting to see each student open up during the games we played.

Since moving to New York City, I worked as a babysitter for a few families, with single and multiple children, ages ranging from 18 months to 6 years old. It's been so fun to be a babysitter in the city and get to take advantage of all the museums and parks that are here! I love helping children grow and getting to experience the opportunities we have here in New York with the kids I babysit has been incredible.

I have maintained the title of "babysitter/nanny" throughout my life because I love helping kids grow into who they're meant to be, as well as cultivating kindness and compassion in a younger generation. I also discovered that being with children helps me to find joy in the simple things in life and checks me on my perspective of things.

I love activities with kids like dancing, singing, drawing, painting - anything creative! While working at the Barter Theatre in Virginia I got to create and lead workshops with students, ages ranging from 3 to 18. During these workshops, we played games that taught confidence while using imagination and bravery. I enjoyed watching the shier students open up and the more outgoing students focus their energies.

When I'm not performing or babysitting you can find me leading walking tours around the city. I am a licensed tour guide of New York City and really enjoy sharing my knowledge with people from all over the world. Being a tour guide has really helped build my communication skills with every age range. There is so much to learn and appreciate about where we live!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Happy and healthy and surrounded by friends and family. And it wouldn't hurt to do some more traveling!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love singing and dancing with kids. I also love playing dress-up and pretend because it harkens back to my acting roots. I enjoy learning languages so teaching kids basic signs in ASL or basic words in French is really fun for me too!
