About me

I have been working with children for ten years now, starting as a babysitter at age 14. My primary babysitting employer was a neighbor. I cared for her two daughters, who were 4 and 7 at the time, for several years. I began babysitting for another neighbor two years later, caring for one girl and one boy, ages 2 and 4 as well as their two golden retrievers. I continued to babysit part-time for both families until I moved after completing college.

I've been a babysitter, camp counselor, and teacher. I have cared for children ranging in age from 1.5 to 13 years old, and have experience with a multitude of tasks-from changing diapers to helping with math homework. I am a working artist and museum tour guide which makes me personable, warm and a great storyteller. I love playing games and making imaginary worlds with kids since I often do that for my other jobs as well!

After finishing my undergraduate degree in 2016 I moved to Boise, Idaho to work for the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. I worked as a teaching artist as well as an actor while there, helping to lead a two-week Shakespeare camp for ages 5 to 8. I picked up part-time babysitting work for a family in Boise as well, caring for two boys, ages 1.5 and 3.

I currently work as a tour guide for Museum Hack, a company that organizes tours of the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as the American Museum of Natural History. While most tours are for adults, I do give tours for children and families at the Museum of Natural history. As a guide, I have engaged with people ranging in age from 3-70, providing an educational as well as fun, fast-paced museum experience.

Because of my background, I'm armed with a plethora of activities that are sure to be stimulating and engaging. I'm also quite physically active and have no trouble keeping up with the most energetic of kids, both indoors and out. When caring for children I create a safe, organized space with ample room for fun and creativity.

I am passionate about the arts and love to share that passion with children. I have worked as a camp counselor in multiple arts camps, from musicals to Shakespeare to film. When babysitting I organize and encourage creative activity time. My work as a tour guide allows me to engage with another passion of mine- science. I'm a huge nerd at heart and love to talk about all things scientific with kids as well as adults. I am a lover of nature and animals and nothing makes me happier than seeing kids get as excited as I am about the environment. During trips to the zoo, I'm as (if not more) thrilled than the kids! Through my performance and tour guide work, I'm able to marry my passions for the arts and sciences. As a teacher and childcare provider, I share my love for the arts and sciences and urge children to follow their passions fully.
