About me

With siblings 5 and 8 years younger than me, I grew up as a built-in babysitter. Whether it be neighborhood parties, church events, or family gatherings, I was always the designated child-wrangler; and I always loved it! I learned how to care for children pretty early on, and I seemed to have a knack for it. After taking a babysitting safety course in high school, I kickstarted my childcare career by picking up babysitting and mother’s helper gigs until my first job as a part-time summer nanny for a family of 5 came along.

I have had the privilege of assisting numerous families in caring for their children. I now have 4 years of professional childcare experience under my belt, including part-time babysitting jobs, long-term nannying positions, teaching swim lessons, working as a music instructor, and teaching. I have worked with children of all ages, from 3 months - 12 years old, including multiples, infants, and active toddlers, and find working with children in any capacity to be extremely rewarding. I am a detail-oriented quick learner and a people-person, so I have a knack for event (and playdate and activity) planning in addition to childcare. I am also a writer with experience in customer service, so I have excellent communication skills; something that I believe is very important between parents and caregivers!

When working with children, I ensure that safety is a top priority while also allowing them to explore and utilize their natural curiosity. I am a strong advocate for learning through experience, so I make sure the children in my care are engaged and stimulated through singing, reading, various types of play, and adventures outside of the home in order to learn more about the world they inhabit. In my free time I really enjoy exercising and singing (among other things), so some of my favorite things to do with younger children include going for walks, playing at the park, and attending library sing-along events or other musical classes. With the perfect balance of an “old soul” and “young at heart,” I can act as a proper role model for the children in my care, in addition to utilizing my imagination and playful spirit to better relate to them.
