About me

I was born in Nicaragua, Central America and I come from a big family of 6 siblings. As a child, I enjoyed playing with my brothers closest to my age, and taking care of the younger ones. I graduated from Boricua College in Brooklyn, NY with an Associates Degree in the Arts. During my third year of college I decided to dedicate my time to my family and became a stay at home mom raising my 3 children. After I raised my family, I decided I wanted to continue taking care of children and to help them develop through my work as a nanny.
   
I now have 9+ years of professional experience with different age groups, from infants to preschoolers. In my most recent nanny position, I took care of two children who are 3 years old, and a newborn baby, now 1 year and 4 months of age. I prepared meals for and fed the children. I would change diapers, bathe them, warm milk bottles, prepare solid food meals, and puree baby food when the youngest started eating solids. I performed all child-related duties, play at home, arranged play dates, drop off and pick up from playgroups and school. I also traveled with the family as needed. I am committed to providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment to children in my care. I am first aid and CPR certified, with a driver's license, excellent driving record, and my own vehicle. I am flexible with schedules. I am fluent in English and native in Spanish. I also hold a valid passport.
   
I consistently receive outstanding feedback from parents and have excellent referrals. I am familiar with and can prepare meals for children with different special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, vegan, and/or organic foods. I pride myself on being able to play and act goofy with the kids, yet still maintain respectful boundaries with them. I love taking children to fun activities like the park, zoo, library, etc., and also spend the day dancing, playing with legos or playing hide and go seek. In my free time, I enjoy traveling. I enjoy being outdoors and love to learn about different cultures. I believe in the importance of good manners, respect, and family orientation.
