About me

Ever since I was a child I knew that education was my passion. I have had the opportunity to lean into both childcare an education in in-depth and gratifying ways. Over the last 6 years I have served in a variety of childcare and educational capacities ranging from tutoring, babysitting, serving summer camps and after-school all leading to my ultimate passion which is teaching.

Teaching has allowed me to learn to work with students with a variety of social and developmental needs as well as cultivate authentic instances of joy and autonomy for children. Watching children discover and learn day to day is one of the things that brings me joy daily. In my classroom, I work not only to create an educational setting but one filled with love and constant care. My sharp attention to detail and a keen sense of order and organization has allowed me to provide safe and nurturing environments for children.

When working with children, I create a secure, structured environment while constantly working to create inspiring creative spaces for children. While I am an educator at heart, I know the importance of learning to love your instincts and following individuality through various creative outlets. My favorite job was babysitting a 3-year-old boy. Every day was an adventure as we discovered and played day in and day out. Our favorite activities would be going to storytime at the local library and checking out new books on things that interested him the most that week (usually sharks or dinosaurs!). We would take our story time to the park or at home and reenact whatever he thought dinosaur or a shark might be doing.I think the best part about babysitting and childcare is giving children the ability to learn through play.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

continuing to create high rigor education for students. For me, this looks like continuing to work toward being the best teacher I can be as a grade team leader. I would also be hopefully pursuing my second interest in educating diverse learners.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Cooking and baking. I love finding ways to make food that are not your traditional go to's into children's favorite dish. Additionally, is a great way to explore the world around you, can be a phenomenal creative outlet as well as works to help all people feel accomplished. I also love to share and cultivate a love of self-expression. This can take form through writing, creating music, dance, or creating art.
