About me

I am an extremely responsible and trustworthy person. I am friendly and outgoing and absolutely love children. I like kids because of their honesty, their sense of play, their crazy antics and ideas. I have a lot of love to give and know that I am able to make a positive impact in children’s lives. I believe in creating relationships and in really listening. I am interested in working in a job that has meaning and giving something back to the world. I am able to nurture and instruct and oversee as well as deal with conflict that may arise.

I am a professional singer and an actor of 19 years and a professional writer/composer of 8 years. I love to create new work - and would love to create/perform plays with the children and also provide audition coaching/support for children if they were going out for roles. I am quite athletic and love to play sports - in particular volleyball, badminton, and softball. I can also skate, ski and swim. I love the visual arts and photography - although these are more of a hobby than an expertise.

I have worked in the school system as a teaching artist creating a song cycle with children aged 11-13. I have also worked with children in a "let's create an opera" program in the school system. I am comfortable with multiple children, able to engage them all instantly together. I have a huge amount of experience working in social justice - and I created a singing and music program at North America’s largest homeless shelter (in Calgary Alberta - my hometown). I have also worked in social justice here in NYC at Covenant house youth shelter.
