About me

I am originally from Upstate New York but have lived in NYC for about 8 years. I am currently a full-time public school teacher in a French/English dual language program in Brooklyn. I spend my days with some amazing 9-10-year-olds.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a full-time nanny in New York for many years. I have worked with families all over the city and with kids ranging in age from 5 months to 13 years. I am comfortable with cooking, bedtime routines, navigating NYC, homework help, working with parents simultaneously, and much more. I have also traveled with families on vacations and have spent summers in the Hamptons. Babysitting has given me many great memories over the years. In 2007 and 2010, I lived in France. I was lucky enough to live in both Paris and Cannes. I have a passion for different culture and languages. This passion is what led me to my current teaching job.

When working with children (in and out of the classroom), I strive to create a positive environment where they can think outside of the box. I believe children should learn as they try new things and experience situations firsthand in order to benefit from them. I am a huge fan of reading and always try to read to or read with the children I babysit for. I believe reading is one of the best things adults can do with children. I always try to promote fairness when dealing with siblings and believe each child should be able to explain him/herself when dealing with conflicts.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I consider myself an imaginative person. Growing up without iPads or cable TV, I was always immersed in creating my own fun. I would love to bring this love of adventure to share with the children I babysit. I grew up playing soccer and played throughout college. I have a passion for sports and the lessons that they teach children. I would love to share that enthusiasm. I also enjoying traveling and have been lucky enough to visit many different countries. I always take pleasure in sharing different cultures, foods, and ideas with those around me.
