About me

Growing up, I was the go-to kid if a neighbor needed someone to feed their cat or water their plants when they went on vacation. As I got older, my responsibilities changed a bit when I started watching their children as well. I started babysitting the kids in my neighborhood around 15 years old. Shortly thereafter I started working at a summer camp where I taught swimming lessons to kids ages 3 - 12 years old. It was then that I realized how much I enjoyed working with kids.

Just before college, I was considering becoming a teacher so I decided to do my senior internship with my old 5th-grade teacher. Ultimately, I decided to double major in Performance Theater and Media Studies Communication. This job gives me just as much joy because it allows me to be creative and engaging on a regular basis, along with the a bonus of sharing this creative energy with kids!

I have worked with kids as young as 3 months and as old as 13 years, including those with special needs and serious allergies. Some of my responsibilities would include getting breakfast prepared in the morning and lunch in the afternoon (along with snacks along the way), putting down for naps, picking up from school, administering medicine and playing the day away. I am very go-with-the-flow so if there needs to be a last minute adjustment or an extra job to be done, I'm happy to help. This includes cleaning up a bit (other than what we get ourselves into during the day, of course), staying later, or having a extra kid to take care of here and there. I have lots of restaurant experience so I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty in the kitchen. I am a fun-loving, laid-back and engaging kid trapped in an adult’s body!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A working actor! I just relocated to Los Angeles to focus on film/television. For the last 12 years or so, I have been acting in theater, but would love to focus on more film work. I don't have to make millions, but I would love to be able to support myself through acting!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach kids to use their imagination. It's so much fun to see how they react and what they can come up with. It can be such a "magical" thing once they understand what it is - the possibilities are endless!
