About me
Hi, there! I’m Shoshana, and I’ve been working with kids and families for the past 15 years. I have been an au pair abroad, juggled the responsibilities of a drop off daycare, and taught children in public schools and professional studios. I’ve worked with infants as young as 6 weeks old all the way up to teenagers.
Working with kids is one of my greatest passions; I love being a part of a child’s journey of discovery, exploring the world around them and learning how to express themselves. I am a trained actor, so I pride myself on being a grade A playmate. I love being outside, exercising, and finding adventure - luckily those are all things that help me to be a better childcare professional.
Coming from a big extended family, I know how valuable it is to build trusting relationships with the children I work with so they feel heard and respected. Whether it is playing pretend, making whole outfits out of recyclables, or simply running around at the nearby park, I love motivating kids to get on their feet and have some fun! All the while, I take my job very seriously: to keep your child safe and well while working together as a team to create an atmosphere of consistency and stability.
I have worked in many different roles within the childcare field. As a daycare worker, I worked with a team to provide individualized care to a large group of children, ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years. I became just as familiar with changing diapers and wiping noses as I did with helping kids take the first steps in learning to read. As an au pair in Italy, I was responsible for the full care of two elementary school-aged children, which included all three meals, homework, indoor and outdoor playtime, as well as carrying out English lessons. As a part-time babysitter and nanny in the city, I have familiarized myself with the typical schedule of after-school pickups, the activities that follow, and everything through bedtime. As an educator I have guided large groups of young people in general lessons while still finding ways to offer specialized individual attention. This variety of experience has well equipped me for any childcare opportunity that may present itself.
