About me

Hi! My name is Catherine and I am an actor, singer, and babysitter living in Washington Heights, hailing from the Philadelphia suburbs. I started babysitting when I was a teen, for a family across the way on my cul de sac. The family had 4 kids, and I was completely inexperienced with childcare at the time, so it was a trial by fire experience.

Since then, I have moved on to become a professional educator, teaching artist, and babysitter in NYC, DC, and Philadelphia, teaching and caring for families and children of all sizes and ages. In addition to babysitting, I've worked with children as a private voice/piano teacher, drama teacher, substitute teacher in public schools, lifeguard for two summers, a swim coach, and as an actor who has worked with children on multiple shows, most recently with twenty-six kids in Annie in Philadelphia.

I have worked for a temp-nanny agency for 2 years now, so my childcare experience is completely varied and mostly temporary, but my steadier experiences have included:
-Care for an 8 month old for full days 3 times a week
-Pick-up and night care for a 5 and 4-year-old twice-three times a week
-Regular date night sitting for a host of personal clients

That being said, the temporary experiences that I have had have provided me with a wide-range of knowledge on all ages and stages of development, how to adapt to many unique situations, and how to make a child feel comfortable with me, a new face, as we spend the day together.

In addition to babysitting, I teach, walk dogs and pet sit.
I hold a Bachelors of Music from Catholic University in Washington DC and my high school diploma from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Chestnut Hill, PA.
