About me
Hello and good day!
My name is Tatev, and I am an entrepreneurial, positive, trustworthy, and energetic arts professional with exceptional communicational, cooking, caring skills and talent.
I grew up in artists family with three incredible siblings. I am a composer for motion pictures and cartoons.
I have a positive and infectious energy both in and out of a professional environment and am a quick learner in a variety of situations. My fluency and knowledge of four languages, exposure to different cultures, traditions as well as my experience in the education, childcare, performing and hospitality fields have strengthened my communication skills and broadened my interpersonal traits.
I am very respectful but relaxed, proud of my heritage, family, and achievements but also very personable, open-minded and objective. I am very persuasive and firm if need be.
I go for runs often and love fruits. I love to give massages and I love watching good cartoons, reading and learning new fairy tales and fables. I am also a fan of puzzles! I have an entire shelf full of puzzles I've collected and solved from all the countries I've been in.
I have studied classical and jazz music really all my life and often perform with my two ensembles.
For the past 13 years, I have been working with children and young adults in a variety of capacities. I started babysitting when I was sixteen and shortly after I started teaching piano and voice lesson to students from 5-18 years of age in two different music schools in NJ.
I love spending time, caring, learning from, teaching and playing with children of all ages!
I have an extensive background in caring for children with several families whom I'm so happy to still have close connections with.
I moved to NYC in 2011 and lived with a wonderful family, the Nadjarians for 3 and a half years as their live-in music instructor/nanny. I taught the family's 8-year-old daughter vocal lessons and their 10-year-old son piano lessons during that time. I also was responsible for the children's safety, helping with homework assignments after school and dinners for the entire family almost every evening of the week. Occasionally I walked or drove the children to their after-school activities or private lessons. I became a family member of the Nadjarian house-hold and will always be very close to them regardless of our geographical location; they have moved to VA last year.
Currently, I teach music to seven students between the ages of 6-27 and occasionally babysit two of them when their parents have a date night. Last year I also taught at a middle school in Queens for an after-school program called SASF where I got a CPR training. I enjoy being around, teaching, and learning from all of my students. Usually children are the first ones that I ask to listen to the music I compose for the short motion pictures because their input is fresh and more valuable than what I get from the professionals in the field.
In addition to the main age-group of young ones I teach or care for, my oldest sister has graced us with a sweet, curious and self-occupying nephew in 2017 and I've spent much time with him from 3 months onwards being involved and trusted with all aspects of his daily routine by my sister and brother-in-law.
I very much look forward to hearing from you and learning more about you, your family and the darlings that would need my care, attention, expertise, and affection.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
In 5 years I hope to be happy and healthy above all things! I also hope to be a full-time composer for motion pictures with the ability to do this in different countries as well, as I love to travel.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love languages and I speak, read and write fluently in Armenian, Russian and English. My French is not fluent but I understand and speak it quite well. I teach music and would love to do the same regardless of the instruments the children play, singing and also geography. I'm pretty good at math so that would also be cool with me. Cooking is one of the most satisfying and incredible arts that I'm involved with every day of my life. I do know that we are what we eat and the joy of making meals and sharing them is priceless for me. I would love to cook with the children as well. Baking is a different game and I'm not so good at it :) Arts and crafts are fun and I'd very much like to be involved with the children in this capacity as well. As mentioned above, I am crazy for all sorts of puzzles and have a big collection of puzzles from everywhere I ever lived or visited so I'd love to solve puzzles with the children!!!
