About me
I was born and raised in New York the oldest of 3. Growing up, my mother was a special educator and actively taught me how to work with children with different cognitive abilities. The experience of watching my mom being an educator, inspired me to want to work with children, motivate and assist them in living fulfilling lives. Watching my mother work with children inspired me to move in kindness and that is something I love to pass on to other children as well. I believe that no matter the age group, children always deserve to be heard and supported. Only in truly listening to what the youth are saying can we guide them to be who they are meant to be.
One of my favorite childcare experiences I can recall was during camp with a young boy who had difficulties controlling his temper. I couldn’t figure out exactly what to do to get him to calm down when irritated. After many trials of different tactics to get him to calm down, I discovered he liked to play “Miss Mary Mac.” I took away from this experience because every child is different, and through active listening, one can find many ways to work with children through their interests and imaginative play!
I am an avid reader because I believe education and knowledge is the key to success. I also believe that reading encourages us to become more empathetic because we in turn are exposed to worlds and lives outside of our own. I enjoy passing on that love for reading. Though I have a deep appreciation for educational learning, I also genuinely enjoy learning through play- as I’m an artist at heart-, incorporating interaction with children of the same ages, and our environment. I feel that many important lessons can come from your successes and failures with others. A philosophy I stand by is “you can do anything you set your mind to.” I believe that with determination and heart anything is possible.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love encouraging children to be creative and true to themselves. Usually this is through art, whether it be arts and crafts or dance parties after a long day. However if art and dance parties is not their jam, I love to be open to listening and sharing any passions a child may have and finding ways to make fun activities and special moments with them.
