About me

Originally from Las Vegas, NV, I moved to New York shortly after graduating college in 2010 (with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and minors in Theatre and Communication) and have been pursuing musical theatre professionally ever since! Musical Theatre is my passion including singing, dancing, and acting.

When I was in college, I began working part-time at the Boys and Girls Club as an After-School Tutor. I worked with small groups of children grades K-5 on their homework or reading or anything they needed to work on day to day. I also worked as a tutor at the Writing Center at my school, so I am familiar and comfortable with tutoring older students as well. For a short stint, I worked as a 'Birthday Party Princess" where I dressed up as different Disney Princesses and performed for children of all ages.

When I moved to New York City I worked part-time at the New York Kids Club as a Special Events Team Swing. I worked special events on the weekends including Birthday parties, Pajama Parties, and 'Friday Fun' Mommy and me events. We handled food preparation, set up and decorated the party room, organized and played games and sang songs with the kids, and greeted and welcomed the guests. I also substituted for some weekday preschool classes and during the summer I assisted on some day camp classes. I have also done Theatre for Young Audiences and there is absolutely nothing more fulfilling than to see how excited the kids get and hearing all their endless questions after.

I currently babysit occasionally for two different families in Manhattan. One is a family on the Upper East side with a 7 year old girl and a 4 year old boy and the other is a family in Midtown with a 10 year old boy and a 7 year old girl.

I love working with children because i think they teach me a lot and i think i can have a good influence them in positive ways. I feel children love me because I am playful and approachable. I believe in instilling good habits of cleaning up together, as well as keeping them engaged (and not just playing on their devices) finding chances for them to interact and learn as much as possible even in their free/play time. I am CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard trained and I take Helath and Safety very seriously. I am a very laid back person and very easy going in nature. I also believe I am very trustworthy, honest and a positive person to be around.
