About me
I am an experienced childcare provider who loves working with children! My experience began in high school when I babysat, tutored, and worked at an elementary afterschool program. When I finished high school I started a theatre camp in my town in Hawaii that is still running 10 years later! I also worked seasonally at the Four Seasons resort as a childcare attendant for resort guests.
In the summer of my Sophomore year of college, I worked as a counselor and teacher for the summer drama camp for middle and high school students that took place at my school. During my semester studying abroad in Florence Italy, I taught English as a foreign language to middle schoolers several times a week.
When I graduated I began working seasonally for a resort nanny agency on my island and then began graduate school in London in 2016 studying Applied Theatre (drama in educational, social, and community settings). During my time in graduate school, I helped facilitate a drama program for vulnerable young people helping them build confidence, self-esteem and resilience skills through drama and self-expression.
After graduating from my MA, I moved to Paris and became an au pair for a family with a 2-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl. I also ran drama workshops in Paris to help children learn English in a fun and creative way. Following that year as an au-pair, I began working for another wonderful family as a nanny for a 15-month-old boy and 3-year-old girl. While living in Paris, I also began teaching English as a foreign language online to children in China.
I then moved to NYC in January 2018 to continue my online work and begin working for Smartsitters while I applied for teaching jobs. I was the accepted into Teach For America and was placed in a charter school in San Antonio, TX to teach dramaat an elementary charter school!
I just finished my 2 year TFA commitment and am now back in NY (this time for good) teaching drama (currently virtually) at a charter school in Brooklyn!
