About me

Hi, I'm Corinne! I'm a California native and lover of theatre and kiddos. I am currently working as a full-time Performing Arts teacher at a middle school in Newark, NJ and am looking to shift my daily life over to the city; working to assist a family with their childcare needs.

In May of 2017, I graduated with my Master's Degree in Theatre and Performance from SUNY Buffalo. This adventure was the greatest leap of faith I have ever taken, and it did not disappoint. Having moved to Buffalo without ever having visited, the passion to pursue my education and to get to the city pushed me to take the chance on Buffalo! During my time there I worked as a server at a country club, a musical theatre dance instructor, and a nanny. As a dance instructor I gained experience with choreography and lesson planning, as well as putting together pieces for performances, and teaching them to energetic and vivacious little girl, while also getting the chance to dance in the company's production of "The Nutcracker." As a nanny, I had the pleasure of spending time with two curious and independent baby girls. They have a joy and zest for life that was incredibly fun to keep up with. We would often go exploring in their backyard or in parks and zoos, or would spend time watching classic Disney movies, or sing and dance to show tunes on a rainy day.

As the oldest of three, with two younger brothers, I was a built-in babysitter from the start. At a very young age I began babysitting and working with kids; I was 9 years-old when my little brother was born. As I got older, I began doing lots of work in the children's nurseries at my church, watching babies and toddlers during church services. When I was in high school I was an Awana leader (a vacation-bible-school type of organization that ran through-out the school year). While in high school I also began to babysit very frequently, with a lot of the same families, for weekly date nights. As I got older I began nannying as a more serious source of income while in school.

It brings me such joy to have the chance to work with families that have their hands full with their own kiddos.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach theatre and dance to kids, but even more, I love to teach kids about character. At such a young and impressionable age, I find it important to take advantage of teachable moments, to impress upon kids an example of how to be a kind, loving, considerate, and polite person in this world. I find it so easy to be impressed by this world, it's important to take the time to ensure our next generation is getting the right one.
