About me

Hi there!

I'm an actor/composer who writes musicals for young audiences. My shows have toured throughout the country with various theatre companies - you can check them out at www.daxdupuy.com! I love playing board games but I'm absolutely terrible at them (bonus: your kid will ALWAYS win). I also love biking, swimming, making up songs, trying not to kill houseplants, rock climbing, and showing people pictures of my cats, Cricket and Ava.

Being the third of nineteen children, I have been essentially raising kids since I was a kid. As an adult, I have worked as an after school babysitter for primary-school aged children and pre-teens, and a as babysitter for several infants and toddlers. I love working with kids of all ages! . Several of my siblings have developmental delays, and one is on the autism spectrum, so I'm also experienced with kids who have special needs.

Some of my responsibilities in my previous babysitting jobs have included cooking meals, managing schedules, setting up playdates, taking the kids all around town to their various activities, helping them with homework, overseeing bath and bedtime, and taking them to various doctors visits/haircuts/etc. If there is a piano or guitar in the house, I like to teach older kids songs that we can sing/play together. With younger kids, I try to learn some songs that they know from movies or their favorite TV shows. I must have played and sung Let It Go a thousand times after Frozen came out - my little girls were crazy about it!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Earning a living off my musicals and tending a garden somewhere in Virginia. Realistically, I'll probably be here in New York, still writing, with more cats.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Piano, singing, songwriting, basketball, I'm pretty good with a yo-yo.
